Valorant: How to boost fps in low end pc
Valorant is just like any other first-person-shooter game. However just like any other game, its highly futuristic graphics and intense gameplay experience can be furthermore improved if a person manages to run the application smoothly without any disturbances caused by input delay, packet loss, ping fluctuation, or general glitches.
Valorant being a Closed Beta game is currently under development and thus many players are experiencing a few of the above-mentioned problems.
This article will teach you the easiest and most functional ways to dramatically boost your low end PC’s performance while handling Valorant smoothly.
These are the specifications that your PC must-have if you want to at least run Valorant:
- CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400
- GPU: Intel HD 3000
- RAM: 4GB
- OS: Windows 7 64-Bit
For normal or above-average gameplay your PC must have specifications of:
- CPU: 7700K
- GPU: 1080
- RAM: 8GB
- 256 SSD and ideally over 144 FPS
However, for smooth and ideal performance your PC must have:
- CPU: Over 9900K
- GPU: Over 1080 TI
- RAM: 8GB
- 256 SSD and 144 FPS on max graphics
Graphics Quality Settings
What many players don’t realize is that just like CS:GO, this game, when started for the first time will be running on the highest settings most of the time, which are meant for high-spec computers. A person who has recently joined the gaming forum and is trying to play Valorant will not know this small but important detail right away. The way this can be changed to suit your needs is by going to the in-game settings and maneuvering to the “Graphics Quality” segment.
Here the first thing you need to do is set everything to low if your PC is one belonging to the tier of low performing devices.
Resolution and Monitor Settings
Go back to the General settings tab under the “Video” section and change your Resolution. This is an integral part of boosting your FPS. Set Resolution to your monitor’s native resolution and refresh rate.
For example, if you have a 144Hz 1440p gaming monitor, then set it to 2,560 x 1,440 16:9 (144Hz). This immensely improves gameplay and favors high performance. Also set your “Display Mode” to Fullscreen. This avoids your background desktop from consuming valuable CPU power and optimizes the performance output.
The last important task here is to set your aspect ratio to “Fill”.
This further complements the use of the previous setting.
Our Miscellaneous settings
Apart from Graphics and Video settings there is a group of toggle options that not many people understand. We are going to cover these and tell you what to do to optimize your gaming session.
Set Vignette to Off
This decreases visibility and visual clarity so be sure to turn it off.
Set VSync to Off
Enabling VSync introduces input lag and you do not want that so be sure to turn it off.
Set Anti-Aliasing to MSAA 4x
Enabling MSAA will not cost you much performance and it will prevent blurred edges.
Set Anisotropic Filtering to 2x
Anisotropic filtering affects the sharpness of surfaces at oblique angles. You won’t see much of a difference so we recommend using a low setting here.
Set Improve Clarity to On
You want the best clarity so we recommend that you enable this setting.
Set Bloom (Previously Enhanced Gun Skin Visuals (First Person)) to Off
This is a purely cosmetic feature so we recommend that you disable this.
Set Distortion to Off
This setting decreases visibility and clarity and you don’t want that so turn it off.
Set First Person Shadows (Previously Shadows) to On
Apart from these settings, we highly recommend that you get a monitor with a refresh rate of 144Hz or above.
Valorant is a hard game and it requires higher spec PCs to run smoothly. Apex Legends had this same problem but since Valorant is a closed beta, Riot will manage to optimize its game servers and performance.
Let us hope that Valorant is not stuck in the same fate as Apex Legends. However we will continue to strive hard to provide you with the help you need and whatever the problem, it can be fixed by us.
Well, that’s pretty much it from our side, we hoped you enjoyed this article and that it helped you on your quest to Gamer Greatness. Feel free to leave a review and recommend this website to your friends who might be facing similar problems.
